loadVars(); Using text files properly in Flash

Struggling to figure out why my flash movie wasn’t working correctly, for the first time in a while, I became really annoyed with it! I was trying to load in a few variables from a text file; I could use the variables to write stuff in dynamic text boxes but for some reason I just couldn’t get the result I was after when I tried to use them propery as a variable to test something:

Load variables in >
If a certain variable equals true do something >
Else do something

But finally, after pulling my hair out and saying some words that I’m sure Wordpress won’t allow, I found this cracking tutorial:
